The most important unused theatre in the UK
OBH fighting fund

Now's the time

We need funds urgently to complete the next stage of the campaign—to show major funding agencies that ours is a workable proposition with solid public support.
This will involve commissioning market research, further architectural plans and drawings, and in the near term legal fees. It is hard to put a figure on each of these but our initial target is £25,000.

Don't forget: Once it's gone, it's gone.

OBH is an entirely voluntary organisation that includes experts in a number of key fields: architecture, planning, theatre management, finance, marketing, business analysis, research, industrial relations, production management, the charitable sector and even local politics.

We have been working with The Theatres Trust, Brighton and Hove City Council, Historic England and Academy Music Group to develop the business proposition. We part-funded an independent viability report and are approaching lottery agencies, charities and foundations and other potential backers to consider our proposals.
We have already had success with the Architectural Heritage Fund, the Coastal Revival Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Down the line there will be fees to find for architects, lawyers and others. With a real target now ahead of us, please give what you can to play your part in making the Hippodrome dream a reality.

Please donate £5 (or more, much more!). If you need a guideline, we have recently had three magnificent £500 donations but, of course, any amount will be welcomed and valued.

You can donate over the counter at any branch of Lloyds Bank or transfer online.

Small print (for reassurance):
Any money subscribed or donated and not used for architects and legal fees, fundraising or other necessary campaign activities will go into the funds to provide community aspects of our vision for the Hippodrome. In the unlikely event that we fail, any surplus would be donated to deserving arts ventures in Brighton and Hove.
